OHS Consultation
Employees should be involved in discussions about proposed changes in OHS matters that may affect their health and safety at work. Employees are closer to the work being carried out on a day-to-day basis and so have valuable information on how the jobs are actually done. Their solutions to problems will often make the OHS Management System better.
All OHS legislation requires employers to actively consult with relevant stakeholders (employees, contractors etc) about issues that could affect health and safety within the workplace. Each state/country differs in what type of formalised consultation arrangements are required to demonstrate consultation occurs within the workplace.
